Mrs. Ange, CHS Librarian, and  Michelle Vecchiarello, CHS Library Monitor

Campbell High School’s mission is to join together with parents, students, staff and community to become a collaboration of learners born of character, courage, respect and responsibility. The CHS Library Media Center provides resources and services to support and advance the learning experience for students, faculty and staff. Our collections include a curriculum-based core of materials as well as materials for general reading. Print and AV materials can be located through the Spectrum online catalog. We subscribe to several online databases which provide students and staff with the ability to access a wealth of information resources beyond the library walls.

Destiny Catalog!

All library materials including books, periodicals and AV materials can be located through the Destiny catalog. The catalog is available on all school computers as a web address. Please see Mrs. Ange for the IP address.

New Resources for Teachers!

Edutopia - http://www.edutopia.org/
From the home page, click on "overview" in the left menu. Then go deeper to the "about us" page and watch the video about Edutopia's founder, vision, and purpose. Then explore the site by choosing a topic or theme related to your teaching environment.

Thinkfinity - http://www.thinkfinity.org/
Notice that from the home page, you can choose several ways to explore the site. Try the search tool on the right side of the home page to search for a lesson by subject, grade, or keyword.

TED - http://www.ted.com/
There are dozens of excellent video talks on this site! All TED videos are 20 minutes or less due to the nature of the TED conference programs. Notice you can choose a video from the home page links or from the search by themes or otherwise. Choose a theme and see what you find!

PopTech! - http://poptech.org/
Notice this site is similar to TED in that it also has videos of fascinating talks. Note that when you lay your mouse over a speaker photo you can see text with the topic of their talk. Can you find videos to use in your classroom?

Annenberg - http://learner.org
Annenberg Media provides content area support and professional development options across grade levels and curriculum. Two of their most famous activities are Journey North, a butterfly migration unit which many teachers are familiar with, and American Passages, an American History support site. Start at their home page and investigate all that this site has to offer.
