The Litchfield School District participated in its annual Make a Difference Week last week, from Monday the 18th to Friday the 22nd. Each year, the Campbell High School Student Council organizes this event with the cooperation of the rest of the district to gather both nonperishable food items and personal hygiene items for donation to the Litchfield Food Pantry at the dawn of the holiday season.
This year, over 3,000 items were donated between all three Litchfield schools, making for a generous donation to the food pantry. Student Council President Ryan Perigny commented on this great level of participation that he is “very proud of everyone for all the donations we received this year,” and said that, “this is a great time for the whole school to get involved and benefit the community.”
At Campbell this year, the top-donating advisory was Madame Kahn’s with 535 items for the week. Second place went to Señora Gatherum’s advisory with 407 items, 384 of which were donated on Friday. These advisories, along with the top advisories for the freshman, sophomore, and junior classes, will celebrate with food prizes like pizza and ice cream.
Thank you to students and staff at Campbell, Litchfield Middle School, and Griffin Memorial who donated to make a difference in the community. Thank you as well to all who worked to make this event happen!
